Banana Flower Cheese Sandwich



I have used banana flower, soya chunks, green peas, black eyed peas, and mint leaves these are the main ingredients of my banana flower sandwich.

INGREDIENTS


- Soya chunks( 1 1/4 cup)

- Banana flower( 1 complete banana flower)

- Butter ( for frying)

- Green peas( 1/8 cup)

- Black eyed peas( 1/8 cup)

- Mint leaves ( 2 sprigs)

- Salt ( 1/2 tsp)

- Red chilli powder ( 2 tsp )

- Coriander powder ( 1 tsp )

- Gram flour ( 1/2 cup )

- Rice flour ( 1/2 cup )

- Amul Cheese slices ( 1 packet)


Method of Preparation:-


1) In a steel bowl boil some water. Once the water starts boiling switch off the gas stove and add all the soya chunks in it. Make sure all the soya chunks are completely immersed in water. Once the soya chunks starts absorbing all the water they would rise on top , so make sure you have taken a large steel bowl with sufficient amount of water and with larger space in the bowl.

I have used Nutrela ( soya mini chunks), you can use any soya chunks of your choice.

3) Once all the soya chunks are soft remove them from the water and slice them into smaller pieces.

You have to cut them in such a way that they have to be very tiny. Meanwhile boil the green peas and black eyed peas for just 1 minute.


4) Wash the mint leaves and also slice them very finely.


5) When the green peas and black eyed peas are boiled, put them in a mixer jar and pulse it only once.

You should get a coarse paste.


6) Take a large steel mixing bowl add the chopped soya chunks, banana flower, mint leaves, coarse paste of green peas and black eyed peas, gram flour, rice flour, red chilli powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix everything well there is no need of adding any water because all the water present in soya chunks would be sufficient enough. After combining all the ingredients if its little sticky then add a little bit more of gram flour and rice flour.


7) Make thin circular patties , make sure the patties are neither too thin nor too thick.


8) Take a cast iron tawa and fry these patties with some butter applied on the tawa each time you fry these patties. Fry them until they turn brown evenly on both the sides.


9) Place the cheese slice on top of one patty, place the other patty on top of it. Place the patty on top of tawa until the cheese melts slightly.


Continue this process for all the patties and you would get banana flower cheese sandwich.
