Radish Cashew Pakoda


I have used cashew, entire radish along with its greens. The cashew that is used to make this pakoda is sandwiched between the radish slices. I have cut the radish in semi circles and placed the cashew in between two semi circles of radish.

Note -

Never ever throw away those radish greens of the radish because they are rich in vitamin C,

vitamin B6, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, calcium, vitamin A, potassium, and folic acid.

They are believed to purify the blood, cleanse the liver, and flush out stored toxins from your body.

Equipments used - Large Steel Bowl , Steel Kadai for frying.




INGREDIENTS

- Radish ( 3 )

- Radish Greens chopped ( 3/4 cup)

- Cashews ( 5/8 cup ) { Note - Buy the split cashew nuts so that it would be easier to place in between the radish slices.}

- Gram Flour ( 1/2 cup )

- Rice Flour ( 1/4 cup )

- Salt (1/2 tsp)

- Black pepper powder ( 1 tsp)

- Coriander powder ( 1 1/2 tsp)

- Ghee ( 2 Tbsp)

- Cooking Soda ( just a pinch)

- Coconut Oil ( 1 cup for deep frying)


Method of preparation:-

1) Slice the radish in circles and then cut each circle in the centre, so that you get many semi circles of radish.


2) Wash all the radish Greens and chop them finely.




3) Take a large steel bowl add ghee, salt and a pinch of cooking soda, keep mixing until ghee becomes frothy.



4) Into the same bowl add radish, radish greens, black pepper powder, coriander powder, cashews, gram flour and rice flour , mix everything.




5) Sprinkle some water make sure the flour coats the vegetables and cashews.

6) Place the cashews in between the radish slices.


7) Deep fry them until they look crisp and slightly brown.


8) After you fry the pakoda you don't need to dip it in any sauce because just the plain pakoda is enough to satisfy the taste buds in your tongue.
